Every service offered by Care Providers at Home, first and foremost, begins with a complimentary Home Care Solutions Consultation where we’ll discuss your home care options, develop a personalized care plan for your loved one, and gather information to ensure optimal compatibility between your loved one and their home companion.
It’s important to understand that, in many cases, your loved one may be apprehensive to discuss their more personal needs and challenges with their children and family. Our experienced staff Registered Nurse (RN) will conduct your initial In-Home Consultation, and is often an easier person for your loved one to open up to in regards to these more personal needs. During this initial consultation our staff RN will spend time getting to know you or your loved one, their health history, their personal detail, life history and preferences, their interests and hobbies, and their dietary needs and preferences. Both client goals and family goals will be explored. How do you prefer to structure your day? When would you like to take meals, and what types of meals would you prefer? What activities would you like to undertake? Are there errands you’d like to do, or sites you’d like to visit? Very importantly, what preferences do you have in a care provider? What characteristics are important to you? Our comprehensive consultation was rigorously designed to gather all the information we need to tailor a personalized care plan that will offer your loved one maximum satisfaction, and keep them engaged in personal and social fulfillment activities.
After gaining a comprehensive understanding of our clinets’ needs, preferences, and expectations, our RN utilizes our Caregiver Quality Assurance® program to select the perfect caregiver who’s just the right match for you. By using Caregiver Quality Assurance®, we ensure that the latest technology is being used to provide peace of mind that the person trusted to care for your loved one is honest, reliable, and understands the importance of their role as a caregiver. The Caregiver Quality Assurance® program allows us to look more closely at the personality and behaviors of the caregivers we select – and by cross referencing this information with that you supply us with in the consultation, we’re able to provide the perfect caregiver for the job!
And although our relationship and service begins at the In-Home Consultation, by no means does it end here. We thoroughly brief your prospective caregiver on your needs and expectations so that they are best able to provide the superior care and companionship you deserve and expect. And your Care Providers at Home representative will continuously monitor, by phone and via frequent home visits, the effectiveness of our care plan and your satisfaction with the companion relationship.
During our initial In-Home Consultation, we’ll also conduct a free Home Safety Assessment. It’s our philosophy that once we visit you or your loved one in their home, we want to help, whether you become a client of Care Providers at Home or not. Falls at home (i.e. stumbling on stairs; slipping in bathtubs; falling off ladders and step stools; and tripping over household appliance cords, dog leashes, garden hoses, and other common obstructions) are the #1 hazard confronting our seniors, and often times are the single biggest factor contributing to a senior’s loss of independence. While visiting your home we’ll assess and report on general safety issues, fall prevention issues, the presence and operability of carbon monoxide and smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency exit plans, and hazards/issues in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and garage.
